    Admission Requirments:The minimum requirement for admission to an MRes degree is:

    • Bachelor or higher award from a recognised institution
    • MQ Graduates (from 2020 onwards): An overall WAM of 65+ and a WAM of 70+ at or above 3000 level
    • All Other Applicants: Minimum overall GPA of 4.38 on a 7 point scale and GPA of 5.25 at or above 3000 level
    • A research proposal (a short paragraph is sufficient).
    Additional Entry Requirements

    • Educational Studies (EDST) - Year 1 entry requires a 5.25 on a 7-point scale (=70 WAM) as a general entry criteria and 5.25 on a 7-point scale (=70 WAM) at or above 3000 level or at the highest level of study (e.g. Masters). Applicants who do not meet the GPA at or above 3000 level or at the highest level of studies may also make a case for admission by supplying additional evidence of relevant professional experience or other qualifications.
    • English (ENG) - A GPA of at least 5.25 on a 7-point scale (=70 WAM) overall, and at least 5.69 on a 7-point scale (=75 WAM) at or above the 3000-level (or equivalent) of the Bachelor degree is required.
    • Law (LAW) - A higher level of English proficiency is required. See English Language Requirements below.
    • Sociology (SOC) - A GPA of at least 5.25 on a 7-point scale (=70 WAM) overall and at least 5.69 on a 7-point scale (=75 WAM) at or above the 3000-level (or equivalent) of the Bachelor degree is required.
    • Philosophy (PHIL) - A degree with GPA of 5.25 on a 7-point scale (=70 WAM), both overall and at or above 3000 level.
    English language Requirements:

    • IELTS Academic - IELTS 6.5 with 6.0 in each band
    • TOEFL iBT - 83
    • PTE Academic - 58
    • C1A - 180
