From 17th April 2019, the sponsor will need first to lodge their sponsorship application and be approved; Then the partner visa can be submitted. Lodging a valid visa whilst the applicant is in Australia may allow the visa applicant to obtain a Bridging Visa and Medicare; A Brodiging visa generally allows applicants to stay in Australia while their new visa application is being processed. No bridging visa will be issued while the sponsorship application is under process.
