In 2023-24, South Australia has introduced a Registration of Interest (ROI) system for managing high demand for nomination places. Applicants must submit an ROI and can only apply for state nomination if invited. Priority will be given to retaining international graduates and temporary visa holders, particularly those with skills in high-demand sectors like Trades, Defence, Health, Education, Science, and Welfare. South Australia is also interested in highly skilled workers, especially in the defence and digital technology sectors. Various occupations are open to offshore skilled workers, totaling over 290 options.
