Eligibility criteria include having an occupation listed on the Home Affairs Legislative Instrument LIN 19/051, a positive skills assessment in one of those occupations. The applicant must provide proof of sole ownership of the business; partnerships or joint ventures are not considered eligible.The applicant needs to work for the business for 30 hours per week for at least six months. The Small Business Owner (SBO) stream offers two distinct pathways: Pathway 1 - (Purchase of business) requires purchasing an existing registered business for at least $100,000, employing an Australian resident, and having the business operational for a minimum of six months before lodging an EOI. The business being bought must have been in operation at its current location for a minimum of two years just before the purchase.
