- have a points-test result of 65 or higher (inclusive of state nomination points);
- have Proficient English or higher (e.g. PTE +65, IELTS +7,...)
- Applicants are required to show proof of residing and working at least 30 hours per week in regional Queensland for at least the last 3 months in their nominated or closely related occupation when submitting their EOI and must maintain this employment status throughout the EOI assessment; and
- Applicants must provide evidence of ongoing employment (minimum 30 hours per week) in regional Queensland for an additional six months at the time of submitting their EOI in their nominated occupation.

QLD | | QLD Graduates Pathway - 491 visa
This pathway is for graduates who have successfully completed a bachelor's degree or higher qualification at a university in Queensland in a priority field (including Agriculture and Environment, Engineering and Related Technologies, Education, Health, Information Technology and Natural and Physical Sciences).
To be eligible for this pathway, the applicants need a points test result of 65 or more (including state nomination points), completed 100% of their studies in Queensland, and graduated after 1 July 2022.
Additional Requiremnts:
- Have at least proficient English
- Applicants must have been living and working in Queensland for at least the last 3 months. The work experience must have been gained after obtaining the relevant qualification, in a Skill Level 1 occupation, and involve a minimum of 30 hours per week. Additionally, the applicant must still be employed in a role that meets these requirements at the time of submitting their EOI.
- Graduates should provide evidence that their employment is ongoing for a further 6 months.

QLD | | Queensland 491 Visa Small Business Owner Pathway
This pathway is designed for migrants presently residing in regional Queensland who own and operate a small business. Eligibility criteria include having an occupation listed on the Home Affairs Legislative Instrument LIN 19/051, a positive skills assessment in one of those occupations. The applicant must provide proof of sole ownership of the business; partnerships or joint ventures are not considered eligible.The applicant needs to work for the business for 30 hours per week for at least six months.
The Small Business Owner (SBO) stream offers two distinct pathways:
Pathway 1 - (Purchase of business) requires purchasing an existing registered business for at least $100,000, employing an Australian resident, and having the business operational for a minimum of six months before lodging an EOI. The business being bought must have been in operation at its current location for a minimum of two years just before the purchase.
Eligible Postcodes:- 4370-4390, 4400-4428, 4454-4498, 4570-4571, 4580-4895 (If the usiness purchased after 1 September 2024 (date of contract)).
- All QLD 491 regional postcodes (If the applicant has signed the contract of business purchase before 1 September 2024,)
Pathway 2 - (Start-ups) necessitates starting and continuously running a business for at least two years, with the business generating a profit and having a turnover of $200,000 in the twelve months before submitting an EOI.
Eligible Postcodes:- 4019–4022, 4025, 4037, 4074, 4076–4078, 4124–4125, 4133, 4183–4184, 4207–4275, 4280–4287, 4300–4301, 4303–4498, 4500–4512, 4514–4519, 4521, 4550–4575, 4580–4895.
